Thats A+ festival- Karwa chauth

First time experience. Wife fasting from sunrise to moonrise.

Karwa chauth is celebrated by married women in North part of India for the long life and well being of their husband. Fasting women wear traditional dresses like saari or wedding lehenga also apply henna to their hands and wear bridal makeup.

After Karwa chauth puja, women await the rising of the moon. Once the moon is visible, fasting woman view moon or its reflection in a vessel filled with water, through a sieve and then view their husband. Fasting women offer arka (water) and fruit/sweets to the moon and pray for the long life of their husband. After that, husband takes the water and fruits from the thali and offers it to his wife to break the fast

Reading the Karwa chauth story, doing the rituals, new traditional dress, getting karva chauth utensils, making flower mala, drawing rangoli/mehndi, making pinni, sweet gajada, karva thali etc.

Waiting for the moon to appear, Last minute nature drama of moon hiding behind cloud ended the fasting by seeing moon in video. Thanks Taruna for showing moon in video.
